Stylish bespoke mirrors are especially useful in commercial spaces, such as hair salons and changing rooms, while creating mirror walls can be very effective in dance studios and nightclubs. We supply free-standing mirrors with a 6mm mirror thickness as well, but for those who want a secure wall mirror, you’ll also find that we stock mirror adhesive and mirror mounting kits to help you achieve the desired look. Our stunning made-to-order mirrors come with the option of adding safety backing or foil backing, too, providing protection against possible injury in the event of breakage and preventing condensation from damaging the back of the mirror. Whichever style you decide on, simply add your design to the basket, then check out and select a delivery option to a mainland UK address. A mirror isn’t just a reflective surface to glance at on your way out of the door, or a basic solution above a bathroom sink. If you want to elevate your interior design, a well-placed large mirror can become a key feature of its own, amplifying the light to make your home or business feel brighter and more welcoming.
You can install a bespoke mirror almost anywhere, but it’s best to think carefully about where and how to position it to maximise the light, ensuring it remains functional as a mirror while also being displayed as an eye-catching design point.
Mirrors can serve as centrepieces above tables or fireplaces or behind seating areas as a simple alternative to paintings or photo prints, and can be left frameless or finished with a decorative frame to tie your décor together.
Whether you mount a mirror on the wall or lean the mirror against it for a more free-spirited vibe, custom-made mirrors are guaranteed to add glamour and sophistication to any room, especially if you opt for a unique shape or glass finish.
There are multiple ways to install a glass mirror, but the right method depends on factors like its shape, size, and intended location. While a free-standing mirror can sit on the floor and be propped against the wall, hanging up a mirror requires fixing it securely to the wall.
The traditional way to mount a mirror on a wall is by using mirror screws, which hold it in place through small drilled holes at each corner. However, if the custom mirror is quite large, you may need additional screws to make sure it’s fixed to the wall properly.
If you don’t like the look of screws, no matter how small, and would prefer less visible fixings, other options include mirror mounting plates or mirror adhesive that can be used to attach the mirror directly to the wall surface.
Mirror mounting equipment will always have a weight limit tested by the manufacturer, so you should always consult the product information to make sure you’re using it safely as intended.
Bear in mind that safety-backed mirrors require mechanical fixing and can be provided with pre-drilled holes if this option is selected, as adhesives aren’t suitable for this type of backing.
While silver mirrors are the traditional colour, offering a bright and clear reflection, you may be looking for something with a more unique decorative touch – which is why we offer a selection of coloured glass mirrors here at Express Glass Warehouse.
Grey mirrors may seem a little moodier, but they’re excellent for a more subtle aesthetic, as they still provide a crystal-clear reflective surface without the bright glare that can sometimes happen with poorly placed silver mirrors.
If your interiors have a warmer colour palette, bronze mirrors can make a bold statement that adds a comforting tone to the space, giving a cosy sunset feel at all times of day. They also tend to fit in well with both neutral and retro décor styles.
Alternatively, if you’re a fan of the vintage look, you might prefer your mirror to seem aged, like it has some stories behind it. Antique bronze mirrors add a charming finish that makes your brand new mirror appear like an antique statement piece.
You can find mirrors with all of these finishes in our collection – and if you’re interested in antique silver or antique grey, get in touch to make a bespoke mirror request!
