Why choose a printed glass splashback for your kitchen?
We may be biased, but printed glass is one of the best ways to bring your interior design vision to life. The question you should be asking is, “when can I start?!”– instead of settling for a standard kitchen splashback, you could choose a high-definition photograph to express your unique character with vivid colours or your favourite holiday moment.
From luxury marble patterns to fun food and pet prints, inspiring scenes from nature or urban landmarks, our printed glass splashback designs can provide a burst of inspiration in a normally plain kitchen. Make your kitchen stand out today with a bold and modern printed glass splashback!
Even if you’re only looking for a cheaper alternative to a feature wall, a glass splashback is a creative way of imitating a brick, stone, or tile wall – without the texture and much easier to clean! Our printed splashbacks could be the missing piece your kitchen needs, so don’t miss out on these incredible products.
Will printed glass colours be true to the image?
When it comes to interior design, we understand the importance of a consistent colour scheme. That’s why we’re happy to colour-match painted glass at, including RAL, Dulux, and Pantone shades.
However, it’s important to note that printed glass may present slight colour variations compared to the image on your screen - because colours can change according to printer settings, mobile or desktop devices depending on your screen brightness settings and contrast levels.

Printed Glass Splashback FAQs
All of our toughened glass splashbacks for kitchens are heat resistant, therefore ideal for hobs, as per BS EN 12150, BS EN 14179 and BS EN ISO 14001:2015 standards. As kitchens are busy areas used for cooking with heat, it’s only practical for this glass to be able to withstand knocks, splashes, and high temperatures.
Without the heat resistance of toughened glass, a kitchen splashback is likely to crack, or even melt if it’s made from acrylic. Therefore we offer 6mm toughened glass for walls close to heat sources – our kitchen splashback ranges are specifically manufactured to last for a long time in such environments.
Our glass printed splashbacks allow you to improve your décor without compromising on strength and safety. They withstand various forms of wear and tear, easy to clean and best of all hygienic!
At EGW, all of our glass splashbacks are made with 6mm thick toughened glass, making them the ideal safety glass for kitchens. We understand that you may have concerns about the practicality of a kitchen splashback behind a hob, as certain materials are not heat resistant (such as acrylic).
However, tempered glass splashbacks also known as toughened glass splashbacks are suitable for use behind hobs, as the strong glass is resilient against a variety of stresses – including heat. Toughened glass can withstand high temperatures up to at least 250°C, so you can safely place them behind gas, electric, induction hobs and above ovens.
As both our painted and printed splashbacks feature artwork behind the 6mm tempered glass, these products are just as safe for use behind hobs as any clear toughened glass splashback.
Most people prefer their kitchen splashbacks to appear seamless, without visible screws or fixtures disrupting the aesthetic. This is especially true for glass with specially printed designs. For this reason, we offer a silicone-based adhesive which can be purchased online with your glass splashback.
Of course, many customers prefer to request drill holes when installing a clear splashback as this will avoid showing any messy adhesive on the final product.
In order to get a close fit most customers prepare the wall beforehand, this can be done by sanding down any bumps, or removing old tiles before installing the new splashback.

We’re happy to smooth or round edges for you with dubbed or radius corners, and cut out shapes or notches to accommodate things like electrical sockets and other kitchen fittings. Glass splashbacks can also be pre-cut to different shapes to work around cooker hoods and cupboards.
When you’re ready, simply contact us with your measurements, we’ll let you know if it’s viable to produce your custom glass splashback. Some shapes may not be practical due to the increased risk of breakage, especially if the cut-outs do not conform to the dimension restrictions specified in our guidelines.
